Q. What is it?
A. The MSO Auction is a new service that allows you to buy and sell
prime quality, excess/ surplus metal. You can buy at a discount and
sell at a price much higher than what you'd get by scrapping the
material.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. The buyer pays nothing and sellers pay only a 5% fee, (or $100
minimum). We'll only charge you IF we find a buyer. Also, you can
specify a minimum price that you are willing to sell at, which means
you can easily cover our fee with your selling price.
Q. Who can buy or sell?
A. Anyone in the USA and Canada can post and bid on excess inventory
at Metal Suppliers Online.
Q. Why list with Metals Suppliers Online?
A. No other metals website can promote your auction like we can. We
promote your auction in two ways. First, we notify all North American
suppliers of that material. Our database of 2500 suppliers and their
inventories allows us to determine which producers and distributors
would be interested in your auction. Second, we look at our 23000
registered users, and email those who have indicated interest in the
particular form and grade of the material you've placed on auction.
Between these two groups, we're better able to find a home for your
excess inventory
Q. Can I restrict the companies that bid on my auction?
A. Absolutely. With our semi-private auction, you select the type of
companies that can bid. Select just metals distributors, just SSCI
members. You can also select a private auction and only the companies
that you personally notify can see the auction; MSO simply hosts and
runs the auction for you.
