"Pets" is no longer an acceptable name in Commiefornia. Not sure if it's
actually a violation of the Hate Crime laws to refer to four-legged
citizens as "pets," but it soon will be.
The name now preferred is:
"companion animals"
Pet food companies are attempting to deal with the name change. Vets are
already changing their signs and advertising to become compliant.
What to do about the meat content of companion animal food is another
worry...they have until 2002 to get the meat products out and replace them
with government-approved wholesome vegetable products. The blind cats are
going to love that one.
