Are you seriously suggesting that the CIA cannot look at / listen to/
read domestic open sources?  What are they supposed to do, refrain from
reading their local paper?

Spying domestically is different from reading what's published.  Let's not
go into frenzy mode here.

And, by the way, why is it ok for me to have an anonymous alias, but not
for my local spook?  I would differentiate listening to posts using an
alias from originating material which appears to come from a non-governmental
source but is really from an intelligence agency.  The latter would be
abuse, in my view.  But I'd be astonished if foreign agents don't do it
now and again.  Let's not get too wrapped up in self-hatred - it's passe.
