HEALTHNET:
An Internet discussion list for applications of high speed
communication networks in Canadian Health Care
HEALTHNET is an internet forum for discussion of issues
surrounding high speed networking inititives focussing on (but
not specific to) Canadian health care. Anyone who is working on
or with an interest in these initatives is invited to join and
contribute (for example: health care personnel and adminstrators,
physicians, technologists, government officials etc).
Potential uses of HEALTHNET include (but are not limited to)
-- Discussion of the use of networks (such as the Internet) for
health care applications. Applications may include items such as
Medical Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) for billing over
networks. The development and use of electronic medical records.
The use of community health information networks and the use of
network technology in the study of health outcomes
-- Discussion of issues such as privacy and security over
networks, the application of remote diagnosis, radiographic
transmissions etc
-- Announcement of programs involving computer networks and
Healthcare facilities, health ministries etc in Canada
-- Requests for information regarding network initatives, service
providers, government programs and so on
-- Job postings and RFP's - anyone aware of job openings or who
wish to post an RFP for a healthcare network initiative are
encouraged to do so
-- Archives: every submission to HEALTHNET is automatically
archived and made available for retrieval from the HEALTHNET
listserve

and in the body of the message put the command:

(e.g., "subscribe healthnet Wayne Gretsky")
You will receive a brief notification telling you that you have
been entered on the listserv mailing list.

HEALTHNET is an unmoderated discussion group: messages posted to
