A related issue that arises in the more formal standards processes is the
creation of the paper trail that documents all the conversations, and the
assurance that all members get full copies of all documents. Networks and
email can be used in these more formal environments, but it takes some
experience and discipline by almost all the participants. A few novices
can be shown how things work without disrupting the process, but not if a
significant group of members are new to computer mediated conferences with
legal paper trails.
