No, no--not moderated newsgroups, just newsgroups where the poster's
identity is authenticated, and where there's an authority to sanction
posters *when someone complains*.  This doesn't take editorial
discretion for the whole group, just for the parts that draw
complaints from the readership.  Analogously, you don't expect the
police to notice that you've been burglarized; you call them to report
it.

Granted, if a group's readership consists solely of kids, a pedophilic
posting might not be caught; but it takes only one responsible adult
reading the group to catch something like this.
