Let's understand a few things about non-profit companies. Joseph suggests
that Gordon ask ANS for travel vouchers in order to dig into why travel
costs are so high at ANS. The reason he doesn't ask, Joe, is because he's
not entitled to them.
The 990's are public documents, the underlying documentation is not. The
issue of travel and salary, for that matter, are issues that the
non-profit's
board is supposed to oversee. Remember the flack over the United Way
president's salary and perks? It was the United Way board that kicked
him out the door.
As for why NT joined with ANS, Ithought this question was a slam dunk: NT
has ATM technology that ANS desperately needs to compete for a piece of
the national information infrastructure pie. But everyone needs it. Some
are going it alone, like AT&T, developing their own. Others, like Sprint,
have teamed up with another company to provide the ATM side.
