Just a footnote on Joe's comment regarding parachutes for ANS officers
and executives. Its no secret that IBM is hurting and a lot of folk who
had lengthy careers with the company are now out on the street.
Susan Eldred was PR director for the Thomas watson labs before joining
ANS. One would assume that when she left IBM to go to this public
spirited network spin off that it was a permanent move and that she
might have some trouble getting back into full time employment with IBM?
Uh HUH. About 3 months ago I received a phone call from the editor of a
well known trade press publication. he asked mea few questions and then
said oh Gordon, remember Susan Eldred? Sure I said. I just got a phone
call from her came the reply. Oh? What's she up to? PR Director for
IBM's client server applications as the Editor's answer.
Nice parachute..........
