The system at "bloom-picayune.mit.edu" which is now known under the
name of "rtfm.mit.edu" and was formerly known as "pit-manager.mit.edu" has
a system that scans all newsgroups and possibly other material and
collects E-Mail addresses.
I don't know how one does the inquire function, but I did an ftp of
the list of addresses for October, 1993. The file consists of single lines
of E-Mail addresses. Here's a sample of the first 10 lines of the file
"address.Oct93":
