I have friends in Okinawa, JP who is interested in getting an Internet
connection for business or personal use. Probably they could start
out with a dialup account or run uucp locally with telnet/slip.
Could you (plural) please summarize current availability and price so
that I can recommend something to them?
It would be nice if they had the option of setting up a local bbs
style server with email, netnews, and archives, but I wouldn't be
surprised if regulatory/contractual obligations prevent that.
Can standard US style modems be used?
I don't mind if the answer is public or private, but I think this is
interesting enough for the whole list to peruse.
