A typical digest will collect all the messages for a day, then
concatenate them and send them out as a single shot. The normal
rfc822 headers are edited usually leaving the From:, Date:, and
Subject: lines only. Often, a digest is edited by a moderator to get
rid of administrative (subscription/unsubscription) requests or to
comment on content or otherwise bring the submissions into line with
the charter of the list.
For those who want to receive com-priv in digestified form, send a
note to com-priv-digest-request@telerama.lm.com with a subject line of
subscribe. You'll get a digest just after midnight each day. Be sure
to send your unsubscription request to com-priv-request@psi.com as it
will not be done automatically.
