Well my questions about Barrnet as a CIX member have to do with this.
On another list having to do with Russia and the internet there were
complaints about routing failures from the Russian side.
The seemed to have something to do with BARRnet. Since as I understand
it Russia should have open access to all the cix, if BARRnet were a cix
member it seemed that they should be able to route from their washington
DC entry to Barrnet successfully. I suggested this but then another
person who apparently had been told by Barrnet that Barrnet was NOT a
CIX member said that my hypothesis was mistaken because BARRnet was NOT
a CIX member.
I have friends in MOSCOW. I was hoping that the LEAST we could do n
this side of the atlantic is to inform Moscow accurately until whomever
is still fighting the cold war in washington gives up and bows to the
inevitable, ie. to a full Russian connection to NSFnet.
