I sat in a meeting with an ANS person. Some ballpark prices were given,
but since it wasn't clear exactly what ANS is selling I can't evaluate if
they were too high or too low.

In any case, our need isn't for a faster road from here to there, but rather
more roads from here to everywhere. For us what will make one network more
valuable than another is how successful they are making interconnections with
other networks (more places to go) along with QOS, price, and that funny
thing called attitude. Of course if none of them end up going where you want
to go, I guess the option always exists to build your own and see if anyone
else also needs a ride there.

Another thing about attitude. In the telephone arena the long distance
carriers pay hefty connection charges to the LEC, but just the opposite
seems to be the case for the mid-levels and the some of the new long
distance internetworks.
