One of the companies working on networking via a combination broadcast
(e.g., TV cahnnel) and dial-up media (guess where the name "hybrid"
came from?) is Hybrid Networks, Inc., whose CEO is Howard Strachman.
I also heard that they were working out of offices in Digital Pathways'
building. Another of the principals is Ed Moura.
Another company is Neubus, Inc., led by Ton Haury; yet another is
Loma Prieta Systems of San Jose, led by Joe Paulus.
Others are interested, and there is a mildly interesting story behind
their emergence. Anyone interested in learning more is welcome to
send me mail.
