There are no definitions which are more formal. In cases of apparent
ambiguity, the practice is for the CIX Board to consult with each other to
resolve a particular situation.

This is a hypothetical, and an unlikely one at that. If it were an actual
situation, we would inquire as to all of the particulars, not just the the
ones mentioned above and try to come up with a reasonable solution.
How about the same as the above, but a state system of higher ed network

These situations haven't come up yet. New situations will either fit
clearly into the existing framework or will be the occasion for changing
the framework.

The FTP archive of cix.org has the text of the by-laws and the membership
agreement. These are currently in revision. We will post a notice here
when new versions of the documents are available.
