UUCP over dial-up IP - NEVER; unless you wish to awail some of
the applications over IP. Otherwise you are adding unnecessary
overheads. Start-up equipment costs are about the same.
I would recommend starting up with vanilla UUCP over dial-up
(with V.3/42) and moving over to (once you have the traffic)
UUCP over (leased line) IP and finally to SMTP over a high speed
link once the link is stable. Operations cost increases from
the second option onwards. Equipment costs start building up
once you are on the way to the third option or if a reliable
network is of concern.
