Dave,
I was under the impression that EDUCOM members were mostly(?) a
collection of campus MIS/Computer Center managers and directors. How does
a campus MIS/Computer Center manager represent the interests of the
faculty/educators? It's been my observation that most campus MIS/Computer
Center shops are run as totalitarian police states and pretty much detached
from the mainstream of modern day "fun" computing (i.e. lots of Big Blue
Boxes, VMS, etc. vs. SUN's, MAC's, NeXT's, etc.) and the interests of the
faculty and educators (who usually end up finding a way to circumvent The
Central Authority and buy/build/manage their own computer resources).
