Sue Blair at ANS states that its rare that ANS comments on network outages
to any degree. I must side with Sue. The NSR reports are only a fraction
of the total picture and for the customers to know that a problem has been
detected and is being looked into. ANS is not MCI and they would be very
are aas un-happy as the rest of us when a line goes down.

On the flip side - for the big buck involved ANS should have been required to
provide a parallel T-3 backup system. I know this will cause people to cry
foul but, T-3 circuits are no big deal and to IBM the equip. is no problem.
Its just a profit-losss sort of deal.
