Business, yes, but is it good business? Caveat emptor at all times?
And if they succeed, will it do the Internet good?
Sort of reversing the argument, when ANS gets an exclusive on NSFnet,
isn't that then also just `business'? No matter how bad a deal the
customer is getting?
As also noted elsewhere, they probably haven't got a chance in hell
of succeeding, and I will agree that any government giving them an
exclusive deserves what it gets. But that doesn't buy the IIA a
licence to (try to) do shady deals; and it doesn't free them from
the responsibility all Internet providers should feel.
Where's the IPA, the Internet Providers' Association, setting
the standards for 'Internet Provision'? The CIX was a good start.
