problems with Dash on the RS/6000's under 7.7

It appears that there is a fairly severe problem with Dash on the
RS/6000's running the new release -- anything which relies on "add"
for the user to be able to start the software will NOT launch from
Dash. (This includes things like MATLAB, Maple, Xess...you get the
idea.)
The error message will look like this:
could not start foobar
foobar: no such file or directory
where "foobar" is the package in question.
In addition, nothing is greyed out on the RS/6000 dash menus, which
means that users can attempt to start things which do not exist at all
for that platform. And if the thing they're trying to launch uses
"add" then it will fail, anyway, as above.
So if you get users complaining that Dash is weird on the RS/6000's,
it's true. We're working to get it fixed as quickly as we can...
