What were you trying to do?
Run ez without a window manager.
What's wrong:
Ez never does anything. Well, the window comes up, but then
it just sits there. No text is displayed, nothing. Just
whiteness.
This happens on DECstations as well as VAXen. To reproduce,
kill your window manager, but make sure that you have an xterm
or something somewhere on the screen other than the upper left-
hand corner, or else when ez starts, it will obscure your
default xterm, and you won't be able to kill it.
What should have happened:
It should initialize and display my document. It should not
require that there be a window manager present.
This is probably a bug deep in the toolkit and should be lots
of fun to find, I'm guessing. It is probably waiting for a
ConfigureNotify event, which it is never getting because there
is no window manager. This is pure speculation on my part,
though.
