Thank you for your bug report.
Athena tries, whereever possible, to leave the base operating system
on which we overlay the Athena environment intact.
On the DECstation workstations, the old talk program has *always*
been called otalk, and it has always been provided by DEC, not by us.
The name is not a bug, and will almost certainly not be changed,
because changing it would be an unnecessary modification to the base
OS.
The name "talk.old" on the VAX and RT platforms was chosen by us years
ago when we made the program available on those platforms, since it
was not part of the standard OS we were using.
As for the failure of the stock answers to mention that it's called
"otalk" on the DECstation, I have asked them to correct that by
sending mail to "olc-stock".
