I sent in a bug report to bugs@athena concerning long lines that wraparound in
emacs. It contained such a long line as an illustration of the problem.
Later I looked at the "Athena bugs" discuss meeting with xdsc to see the report
and whether any comment had been made on it, and found that when xdsc breaks
up long lines on to multiple window lines, what should be the last column is
omitted. Resizing the window width with this and other transactions, I found
that there is consistently a column of white space 2-3 characters in width at
the right side of the window, and whatever character comes between the last
shown character on one line and first shown character on the next is omitted.
This took place on m2-225-1, an RT running Athena release 7.4.
