What were you trying to do?
Display a piece of mail that contained a number of tabs
using the "show" command in an xterm. I tried on this DECstation
5000 running the friendly test release, and I tried it on a
DECstation 3100 running release 7.3, both with and without
my assorted personalized configurations. The problem existed
in all tests.
What's wrong:
Tabs aren't aligned properly. The file does display properly
when viewed through /usr/athena/bin/more.
What should have happened:
Tabs shouldn't have gotten mucked up. Ezra tracked it down, and
it looks like "show" uses a hard-coded path to use /usr/ucb/more
instead of using the user's search path. The file displayed
properly when he used the "-showproc" option and specified the
/usr/athena/bin version of more.
