What were you trying to do?
Open an xterm off a remote machine
What's wrong:
doing an xhost + doesn't allow you to access the X server from the
outside:
(52)/mit/mnystrom/mnystrom2/Cray/Result/descs%xhost +
all hosts being allowed (access control disabled)
(53)/mit/mnystrom/mnystrom2/Cray/Result/descs%
(locally)
and on remote host:
edtoo>setenv DISPLAY m4-035-8:0
edtoo>xterm &
[1] 48500
edtoo>Xlib: connection to "m4-035-8:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
Error: Can't Open display
This only happens on this one machine.. hardware error? I certainly don't
know.
What should have happened:
If experience is any guide, I should have gotten an xterm on my
screen.
