From: bwill@Athena.MIT.EDU To: bugs@Athena.MIT.EDU Date: Thu, 30 Apr 92 08:52:55 EDT System name: m11-113-2 Type and version: POWER 7.3S (1 update(s) to same version) Display type: colorgda What were you trying to do? trying to use foreign characters in my document. I previously reported a bug that I could not preview documents on a RS6000s, and was advised to remove the .format and .print commands from my preference files. I was then able to preview the documents, but foreign characters no longer appear correctly (they are replaced by random garbage). The hardcopies also contain garbage. I remember having this problem a long time ago, and it miraculously disappeared. I have tried deleting my preferences file (I never changed it so I assume it was the default file) and starting up ez again, on several different machines (including a Vax 2000), but this doesn't seem to fix the problem. Please describe any relevant documentation references: The compose-char function handles all of the foreign character commands (ctrl-x v, ctrl-x x)
