What were you trying to do?
Use cview (and on occasion xcluster) to find out whether a
cluster is relatively empty. (Problem has occurred on numerous workstations,
I haven't noted it every time.)
What's wrong:
Cview/xcluster both currently report 17/27 machines free in 4-035;
I see two. They have claimed 10/12 machines free in e51-007 for months; not
only have I been there and seen the cluster full, but there are not 12 machines
there. In general, xcluster and cview do not report correct numbers.
What should have happened:
They should have reported correct numbers
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
Irrelevant. (Presumably man pages; I haven't checked --- I'm willing
to bet they don't say "This program isn't supposed to give the right numbers.")
