What were you trying to do?
Run discuss in Emacs.
What's wrong:
get message "waiting for discuss..."--except that after about, oh, say
20 minutes or so I have to kill Emacs (killing the edsc process
doesn't even seem to work). usually it only takes edsc a minute or so
to start up. i can't do a thing with emacs either; not even switch
buffers.
What should have happened:
i should have been able to use discuss, like i can on every other platform.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
i noticed this before when 7.3S was being tested on the rs6000s. i
just avoided the test workstations, because i was too lazy to send a
bug report. but alas, now i'm trapped in a cluster where i can't use
discuss...
