System name: mcat
Type and version:	KN01 7.3M
Display type: PMAX-MFB

What were you trying to do?

Use `xinit' to start up X.

What's wrong:

It exits immediately with the error:

Creating DECnet socket: Protocol not supported
couldn't open device
XIO: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) on X server "(null)"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
The connection was probably broken by a server shutdown or KillClient.

What should have happened:

It should start up X. I see no reason why xinit should be
attempting to use the DECnet protocol at all.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:

	xinit(1)
