(Kevin, I'll leave a paper copy in your Building 11 mailbox too, in
case that's easier for you.)
Pg 1, Login/Session Changes:
maybe say "renew helps reset your login session", rather than "helps
reset your account"
Pg 1, at the bottom:
How about "If you are a software developer or someone else who would
like to know all the technical details", rather than "If you are a
systems hacker or..."
Pg 5, invoking features not on any platform:
list where in the Dotfiles document you can find information about
using control statements that assure calls are made only on specific
machines; I couldn't find it.
Pg. 6, Developer's Guide:
A realistic estimate of when it would be ready would be better than
saying "coming soon". (I know, "as soon as Ezra has nothing else to do"
:-) )
Pg. 6, quota:
You can take out the part about being warned about lockers they have
no control over. Refer people to the man page; Lucien does a good job
explaining what lockers will be checked. Also, I'm not sure this
belongs in this section; does quota vary between the operating
systems? If it does, the release notes should list what the
differences are.
Pg. 8, kinit and renew:
It says kinit "is no longer sufficient", but it wasn't sufficient
before, either. Also, again I'd say "re-establish your login session"
or something, rather than "re-establish your account".
Pg. 11, Dash by default:
It should briefly describe what dash is, rather than just say it's the
default anmd then tell people how to get rid of it.
Pg. 13, olc hours:
It should also say that volunteer consultants may be available at any
time, not just during the hours listed.
Pg. 16, Discuss:
Maybe mention that "dsgrep" is based on "dig" from the consult locker
(so that people who have been using dig know that they can now use
dsgrep instead).
Pg. 22, scribe6:
Actually, scribe6 isn't needed and will be going away; scribe5 may
still be needed and will be kept for a while.
I hope this helps... I've got a meeting 'til 12, so if you have any
questions or anything I won't be able to reply before then.
