Sorry, George, but I disagree. "Delete" et al attempt to preserve
as much information about a file as possible when deleting it. If
delete changes the permissions when deleting a file, it can't restore
them properly if the file is undeleted.
At this point, I don't see this as a bug. However, I am willing to
be convinced otherwise, if there is a consensus in the other
direction. Therefore, if you really feel that delete should be
reducing the permissions on files, I suggest you send a message to
athena-ws and see what other people think about it.
