Since the APC upgrade, every time I have started my machine following
power-off, it has come up in some kind of standalone debug mode
rather than proceeding to boot vmunix. A message on the screen
suggests a stray interrupt has occurred. Not knowing how to talk to
this debugger, I hit control-alt-pause, which seems to get its
attention and starts it over on a path that leads to a proper boot.
