xclock offset

No matter how hard I try to inititate an xclock with an offset of +6
(European Continental Time) I cannot get it to work.  The error message
seems to indicate that that option is unrecognized


xclock -offset 6
xclock -offset +6
xclock -offset 6:00


none of these work.  Advice?
