What were you trying to do?
Use /usr/ucb/f (a symbolic link to /usr/ucb/finger)
What's wrong:
'f user' doesn't list Athena-wide info for the user. 'finger
user' does.
finger(1) does not mention the Athena-wide concept at all.
What should have happened:
f and finger should do the same thing.
finger(1) should mention that Athena-wide info can be
obtained.
