My Athena username is SCHEROCK. I have an account on a private Athena
workstation, Bugs Bunny, in the DSPG group on the 6th floor of
building 36.

Sometimes, the following happens:

whitechapel> \rsh bugs-bunny -l scherock
Warning: no Kerberos tickets obtained.
Athena Server (VS3100) Version 7.2R Sun Feb 10 00:15:43 EST 1991
BUGS-BUNNY is a private workstation for use by
DSPG members only.

6.341 course related material has priority on this machine.

For accounts on this machine, or other complaints/requests
please see Andy Singer (SINGER@FFT, SINGER@ATHENA)
or John Buck (ROSENCRA@ATHENA),

Thanks,

Andy

During the week of April 1, several Athena file servers will be out of
service briefly for software updates, according to the following schedule:

        Wed Apr 3 Cyrus 8am - 9am
                        Odysseus 10am - 11am
        Thu Apr 4 Aphrodite 8am - 9am
                        Themis 10am - 11am

Use the following commands for more detailed information:
    athena% attach info
    athena% cat /mit/info/Pending_Shutdowns

                                -- Athena Operations

attach: Filesystem "6.341" is already attached (mapping)
attach: Could not get Kerberos ticket for filesystem 6.341
realm ATHENA.MIT.EDU instance themis, kerberos error is: No ticket file
(tf_util)
attach: Filesystem "matlab" is already attached (mapping)
attach: Could not get Kerberos ticket for filesystem matlab
realm ATHENA.MIT.EDU instance atlas, kerberos error is: No ticket file (
tf_util)
attach: Filesystem "sipb" is already attached
What DISPLAY are you using [default: none]?

I do have a .rhosts file on Athena, and it does have an entry for
whitechapel. The "login without password" occurs from machines other
than whitechapel, also.

Sometimes, I'm prompted for a password (which, I think, is correct).

What gives?

Stephen Scherock
