I am unable to duplicate the problems you describe. In fact, I just
tried all of the pre-login options you mention, and all of them work
fine for me.
Please try again to see if this is a problem, and if so, please try it
on more than one workstation. Let me know if you have further
trouble.

What were you trying to do?
Use the various options presented in the login window in the 7.2
release in m66. I tried all the "Other Options" Only "Shut Down
Window System" and "Display Console Window" worked.
What's wrong:
With "xcluster","TechInfo", "Library Access", "xinfo", "Login to MITVMA",
"Moira", and "lucy" the screen goes black then grey for about 5 seconds,
and then a login window reappears.
OLH and Display Workstation Characteristics create an exterm with the
"$" prompt and give the error, "xterm: can't execvp
/usr/athena/timeout"
What should have happened:
These options should have worked as they were supposed to.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
