What were you trying to do?
Do a console login by typing ^P from the spiffy
Xlogin blinking owl display
What's wrong:
At username prompt, typein is not echo'd. Then
when you try to enter a password, an immediate
newline seems to get entered. After a few tries,
you finally get logged in.
