The problem you saw regarding running emacs from a a vax with windows
popping up on a sun screen is caused by emacs not setting a resource
properly for an input hint.
[changes.72 #660] reports this bug. I believe dcc has a line in his
.Xresources that takes care of this problem. (dxwm has the same problem)
