What were you trying to do?

Well. Now don't think that I expect that what we were trying to do is
*supported or anything, exactly, but John Carr suggested that I send
this in.

Basically, if you are on a Sun workstation, running Openwindows 2.0,
and rlogin to an Athena workstation (privatized, so this is all ok)
and xhost and everything, and try to start up an emacs, it creates the
window, but doesn't ever let you type in it. It just beeps. Seems
it's not doing the right thing with the focus.

The version of emacs in the emacsdev locker vaxbin does allow it to
accept input or output focus, however, and works just fine.

What's wrong:

(see above paragraph)

What should have happened:

well, it should let you type!
