What were you trying to do?
Send in a bug
What's wrong:
If you don't have tokens/mappings, you can't. For instance:
<33> beeblebrox:~> sendbug
Please enter the subject for this bug report. (Generally, this means
the name of the program or locker with which you are having problems.)
--> kerberos
Please fill in the specified fields of the bug report form, which will
be displayed momentarily. Remember to save the file before exiting the
editor.
comp: error opening /afs/athena.mit.edu/user/m/marc/Mail: Permission denied
Now, I didn't have tokens, and that was my fault. Seeing the error, I
knew what was wrong, and was able to fix it. If, somehow, remote
filesystem authentication on a machine was broken, it would be
impossible to send a bug. If a naive user manages to lose ktickets
and mappings, he can't send in a bug, he can't run olc, and he can't
zwrite for help.
What should have happened:
Sending in a bug should depend on as little as possible.
