I was kinit'ed as amgreene.root, and enscript gave me the error:
You are not known by the quota server and are not allowed to print.
See an Accounts Administrator to be added.
Now, I want to flame that amgreene.root should be able to print from
amgreene's quota, but I guess that's a design decision, and I will
simply register my annoyance.
The BUG is the following:
dvi2ps logan | lpr -hPcalvin
did not give the same error message. It failed quietly. That is
wrong.
What should have happened:
If palladium is going to be obnoxious and not let my root instance
print, it should at least always say so. Even better would have
been if it said ``User amgreene.root is not known by the quota
server;'' since I didn't even realize that it was because I was
rooted that it wasn't working. DESCRIPTIVE error messages, please!
