This has apparently been fixed. This was fixed by public fix-2 which
changed qvss_io.c to set the resolution properly. Unfortunately, the fix
came out about a day too late for John's X server (dated 2/14/90).
I am getting:
dimensions: 1024x864 pixels (325x274 millimeters)
resolution: 80x80 dots per inch
