This has nothing to do with it.  The reason for objection is that it
will BREAK some useful things that do currently work under standard
BSD.  (Note that I say reason for _objection_, not _rejection_ --
acceptance or rejection has to be based on all factors, and this is
one that you are ignoring.)

Huh?  Why is "chmod 775" for UFS and NFS so different from "fs sa ...
write" for AFS, in this example?

"Nothing in the release depends on it" isn't sufficient reason to go
break something.
