it's not as easy as that: (a) items in /usr/doc belong to the
documentation group (as far as I know), and they are *way*
understaffed. There is also the issue of "do we want people printing
copies of these manuals?" jeff, as keeper of the printers, probably
cares about this.
i'll research this one further.
