In GNU Emacs 18.49.35G of Wed Oct 7 1987 on M66-080-12 (berkeley-unix)
Started emacs [only command in .emacs is (server-start)].
While the window was blank, I did some resizing.
[Possibly relevant: I waited a few seconds before creating the
window (i.e. in the flashing outline state); when it came up
it displayed the "loading server" message 24 lines down a ~60
line screen]
emacs dumped core: "Illegal instruction"
I was able to run dbx on the core:
(dbx) where
kill(Fsymbol_value = 78437652, sym = 14421) at 0x46fd8
abort() at 0x46fc8
[...many lines deleted...]
write(set_window_height = 78437652, window = 78437652, height = 78437652, nodelete = 78437652, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c, 0x7fffe06c) at 0x7fffe07b
The core dump and full output of "where" from dbx are in
~sgs/game/CRT/{emacs.core,error}
If there is no interest in this, I'll delete it in a week or so.
