What were you trying to do?
place a window using mwm's "rubber band"
What's wrong:
While I was waiting for the "rubber band" to appear, I used my
other workstation, so the X screen saver kicked in.
When I un-saved the screen, mwm didn't realize that its rubber
band had been obliterated by the screensave, and so drew an extra XOR'ed
rubber band to erase it after I moved the mouse--leaving a turd rubber
band on my screen.
What should have happened:
mwm should realize that screen saving can happen during a rubber
band operation and not leave turds, or it should actively prevent screen
saves at such times.
