an xmh pick operation just:
X Toolkit Error: Cannot perform realloc
and now xmh as a whole is totally hung.
this is unacceptable - the pick should have
died, but not hung the xmh. i have now lost
an hour of careful markings in my mail directories
as i try to rationally reduce the volume of mail
stored so as to be useful to my descendants. it
will be hell on wheels to recover precisely the
intended state...
