i have never seen this problem with the installed version of tn3270; i
use tn3270 on a daily basis (and not just with MITVMA).  can you offer
evidence that this problem is not a problem at cornell (on the telnet
server on their supercomputers)?  

in the meantime, i presume you've approached the student consultants
about your errors when building that software.  you should also
approach the people who provided you with the software if you have
problems building it.
