this a refinement of my earlier report: xmh's message display window sometimes
fails to scroll correctly, if part of the window is obscured, and if the
machine (but not the server) is heavily loaded, rows of pixels that come into
view are sometimes lost. usually, the first 20 rows (or so) are the ones
affected. -don
