There is a program, msgchk, which tells you how many messages are
waiting for the user at the post office. The default setup files use
this program, and any user can find out if there is mail waiting on a
post office by using the msgchk command. Since inc fetches all the
messages available on the postoffice, msgchk will provide the function
you seek.

In summary,

	msgchk
	inc

will provide the function you seek.

I believe it has been, but I will verify this on Monday.

I haven't heard anything about this; Telecom (which is responsible for
maintaining the post offices) is probably your best source of
information on this concern. You'll notice that I've sent this reply
to "postmaster" so that it comes to their immediate attention.

Replies to athena-ws ONLY, please (bugs is not a discussion list).
